Cos it feels so empty without me...

I can do better than that: Jesus probably looked more like Bin Laden than the white guy on the left. Histroically speaking. Same rough area of origin. I just think it's a little ironic that the popular image of jesus that has eveolved, probably mostly to do with renaissance depictions, quite closely resembles the image of the person who is the current popular image of total evil. And that the eminem lyric resembles a poster i saw outside a church.
how would re-writing the song 'without me' so it is as sung by jesus be in terms of doing better? it might be a while before i get another post up, so i'd have a while to work on it!
"So everybody just follow me, cos we need a little humility, and it feels so empty without me. Na na na na na...."
Do you really see a resemblance? Putting aside my Christian sympathies and just looking at the visual data in front of me, I'm afraid I just don't see the likeness. Both have facial hair - that's about it I'm afraid!!
Reminds me of something my mother told me. My Dad used to have a moustache. When I was very little if I saw a man in the street with a moustache I would point and say 'Daddy'. This was a little embarrassing for my mother as you can imagine.
I think Bin Laden's image consultants might find it rather embarrassing that you think he looks like Jesus. I don't think they were trying to market him as an image of love and mercy.
Perhaps if i comped in a turban? Tell you what, I'm not sure the guy on the left would be too happy with the way he's been 'painted' either. for example, i hear 'carpenter' may be a mistranslation for a word which meant both 'man who works with wood' and 'very educated/wise person'. I told my husband this. he was unamused at the comparason. now someone direct alannis morisette to this page in an email titled 'No, THIS is ironic.'
